Mental Health Recovery Services


LAP offers free individual and group counseling to all Illinois lawyers, judges and law students. Our Men’s Group meets on Mondays and our Women’s Group meets on Wednesdays (12:15-1:15PM). Individual counseling sessions are by appointment.

Peer Support

LAP trained volunteers provide free peer support for Illinois lawyers, judges and law students.Volunteers are matched with LAP clients based on  demographics and interests and, as with all LAP services, they are bound by strict confidentiality. 


LAP offers training to those interested in learning more about addiction, stress, and how to improve  overall wellbeing.  We offer both online and in-person MCLEs, regularly speaking at Chicagoland law firms, law schools, and bar associations.


LAP provides inteventions for legal professionals who may not realize they need help. Interventions are a group process initiated by family, friends or colleagues, and invovle 3 LAP trained intervenors, including at least 1 judge and 1 person in recovery. 


LAP hosts 2 AA meetings every week (Tuesdays and Thursdays 12:15-1:15PM).  Meetings are Open, but are tailored for members of the legal profession. Drop by any Tuesday or Thursday to check it out.
